My period has finally come! I never thought I would be excited about this, but the more it was delayed the higher potential of needing to extend our stay – which is lovely but expensive.
Honestly, I am writing this a day late because I spent all yesterday trying to survive the cramps of endo period.
Here are some things I would recommend to survive your period while in Greece:
- Make sure to book a place that has air conditioning, if you are going to spend all day in bed on a heat pad it can get warm
- If you can find a place with a bathtub, that will help a lot too
- Bidets are amazing
- Ask your IVF doctor if there are any pain medications you can take to assist with cramps, most NSAIDs are unsafe for trying to get pregnant
- Lots of water
Remember, this will pass. It is miserable to be cooped up in an AirBnB or a hotel room while you are in a foreign country but if your bleeding/cramps are as bad as mine the safest thing to do is to take the time your body needs to rest and then you will be back at it once you are feeling better!
